Early 20th century, by that time England had seen the creation of Manchester United, the

best club in their country; the Spanish island of Catalonia also got their club, Barcelona.

But Spain, which they are part of, did not have any capital club. As everyone’s wait came to

an end, the same happened to the football lovers of Madrid. The day was March 6, 1902.

A new club arrived in the world of football. There is a history behind the creation of that club

in Madrid. Real Madrid was not officially created. Some university students who created

Real Madrid. Again they were not even professional footballers. Madrid started playing in

the first division with this inexperience. This inexperienced Madrid won their first title

after only 3 years beating Athletic Bilbao. Not only that year, Real Madrid won the Spanish Cup 4 years in a row.

When Madrid debuted as a club in the capital of Spain, everyone looked at Madrid differently.

Because of that, the King of Spain allowed Real Madrid to use Royal (Real) in their name

in 1920. Since then, Real Madrid's journey to prove themselves as Royal began. The journey

of the Spanish league began around 1929. Barcelona won that first league. But today,

after 121 years, they are 9 La Liga behind Real Madrid.

Once Santiago Bernabue became president, Real Madrid’s fortunes started to rise.

The journey to the European club football title began in 1955. Madrid love to prove themselves

on the stage of their best, they proved by winning the European Cup 5 times in a row. At

that time, Madrid had a fair number of stars like Di Stefano, Puskas. Successive European

titles were taking Real Madrid to a higher level of success. But after 1966, Madrid fans had

to wait for years. Real Madrid has never been knocked out of the best European competition,

but has not seen the face of that title for 32 consecutive years. By that time, the name of

this competition was changed to UEFA Champions League. With that title, now Real Madrid

has won the Champions League 14 times, which will have to be much more difficult for

the team in the 2nd place to catch. The Real Madrid that everyone loves today did not

come here like this. Because of their history and tradition, the best players in the world

still dream of playing in the Real Madrid jersey. The last 19th century saw the rise of many

clubs. Many clubs including Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa,

Bolton Wanderers won the Champions League and even Celtic won the treble, which

Real Madrid has never done in its 121-year history. The clubs that I have mentioned so

far have played many finals with Real Madrid. They dominated in their own country and

did well in the European competition. But you come today 40-50 years later and see where they are today? Some clubs are relegated to the second division. .But after all this, one thing

remains unchanged. That is that Real Madrid still ruled the world of football. 

Just as Real Madrid can destroy their opponents on their day, they never forget to help them

on their bad days. That United tragedy happened in 1958 where 23 players died. Real Madrid

were the champions league winners that year. They requested the committee to give the

trophy to United as they were the rightful claimants of the champions league. Not only that,

Real Madrid offered the then top player Alfredo Di Stefano a loan for the whole season. Also,

Real Madrid helped them in every way so that they could forget that tragedy. After that

incident, Manchester United said “From now on, Real Madrid and United are friends”. Not only

that, when Borussia Dortmund's name was going to be erased from the football world, Real

Madrid sent their midfielder Nuri Shahin on loan, then sold to Borussia for which Borussia had

not yet paid.

Unparalleled achievements, thirst for titles, despite having such a good club, Real

Madrid proved to be the best club of the century. Almost every player in the world dreams

of wearing the white jersey of Real Madrid. Each player who wears the jersey of

Real Madrid develops a different hunger for victory. Not only that, everyone who has

been playing for Real Madrid since 1902 had a different dedication to Real Madrid.

Because of that dedication, many players still remember Madrid even after leaving the club,

Real Madrid until the last day of death.

Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano said 'Real Madrid is the name of a feeling'.

Santiago Bernabue said  “The Real Madrid shirt is white. It can stain mud, sweat and

even blood, but never of shame!” 

Real Madrid has had to struggle many times since 2000 but they have made

remarkable comebacks. 

This is Real Madrid. Here giving up is not an option.
